Box-outs and Flexi formwork

FRANK manufactures a varied range of box-out shutters made of steel and cardboard to create apertures and recesses. These products correspond to all relevant national and international guidelines and standards.

FRANK box-outs are manufactured from formed sheet steel. Therefore, for many sizes of box-out additional stiffening is not required. For detailed information please refer to the corresponding stiffening chart. For large box-outs additional inside stiffening with wooden bracing is usually required for increased stability and better resistance to the concrete pressure.

Instead of bracing on site, we can supply the preassembled box-outs complete with bracing. The trapezoidal profile of the box-out shutters fulfils the maximum requirement for a joint according to DIN 1045-1 for the “interlocked”.

Cardboard box-out forms are an economic and efficient means of creating slab apertures.

For larger openings we recommend the use of sheet steel box-outs.

The joint profile former is a plastic profile used as formwork for concrete sections. After removal of the joint profile former, the first concrete section is ready for the pouring of the second concrete section.

• Gives concrete an optimum surface for absorption of shear forces at construction joints
• Joint profile formers are made of plastic – they are easily removed from concrete and are suitable for multiple use
• The joint profile fulfils the maximum requirement for a joint according to DIN 1045-1:2008-08 for the category ”interlocked“
